Biography

Emma was born and raised in Hampshire and moved from the South East to the Midlands to read law at University, before returning to the South East in 2019. After a brief spell in print media and radio news, she spent nearly a decade working in live television, beginning behind the camera as a producer on shopping shows, before being thrown on air when a presenter called in sick. Her immediate ease on-screen resulted in her presenting full-time and she spent several years selling jewellery on live TV. She has travelled extensively with her work, including a stint in the USA training presenters for a new channel launch and gem buying trips to the Far East.

Emma joined Birmingham Hospital Radio in 2015. After just two months she was given her own show and created 'Let's Get Quizzical', a two-hour pop quiz allowing patients to compete with their ward mates, or simply relax and enjoy the music! In 2017 she won a National HBA award for the show, being described by the judges as 'a bright and connecting broadcaster, a great listen'.

In 2017, Emma was talent-spotted by the BBC Academy and began presenting the Saturday Early Breakfast show on BBC Radio Leicester, before moving to the Saturday Mid-Morning show and Sunday's 'Clueless', BBC Radio Leicester's treasure-hunt show and the most listened to show on the station.

Emma studied law at post-grad level and in 2010 became a qualified barrister. She's never practiced though, choosing instead to remain working in broadcast and jewellery roles. Not one to rest on her laurels, she also passed a gemmology qualification in 2016. She is married to Richard and has two cats. Emma loves nothing more than trying adrenaline-fuelled activities, walks in nature, animals and a lovely Sunday roast with family and friends.
